Plague
Plague was composed by Nick Didkovsky for his band Doctor
Nerve, which
recorded the piece on the CD SKIN (Cuneiform Records Rune 70). [bandcamp] [itunes]
Some of the melodies in Plague were played live with a MIDI guitar into
RiffGrabber, a program written in HMSL. RiffGrabber
reads live MIDI input
and transcribes it to common music notation. It looks for simple
durations
as well as triplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, and septuplets.
RiffGrabber
exports its transcription to Deluxe Music 2.0 (Amiga) via an ARexx
port.
This recording was produced by exporting a standard MIDI file from HMSL and rendering it using Logic Pro.
